Vore. One word, multiple points of view. First of all, what's Vore? Vore is an abbreviation of "vorarephilia", which derives from the Latin "vorare" (= devour) and the Greek "philia" (= love). Vorarephilia is a fetish which consists in liking the idea of being eaten or to eat someone.

Now, wait a minute! If you're going to leave after reading just this, well, you'll never know what it really means, I guess. In this short writing, I want to share with you my view about Vore, and how Vore could be seen in a different way even by someone who's not into it. At least, for the short time I'm taking from yours, try to stop thinking: Vore is disgusting.

I'd like to start speaking a bit about myself.
I think I've always been a voraphile, since I was born. The oldest vore memory I have dates back to when I was 5-6, and I imagined to get eaten by my dog. I've always been attracted by the various vore scenes in cartoons and movies. Since when I was 14, I've had a very hard relationship with Vore. Finally my parents allowed to surf the internet by myself, and in a short time I discovered this word: Vore. A new world showed to me. I was finally able to search for Vore pics and scenes very easily. But it was not all roses and flowers: soon I began feeling bad for this. I felt different, weird, though I couldn't stop looking at Vore stuff. It's been so for three long years... but one day, on February 10th 2011, everything changed. I thought: "Damn, I can't go on like this. That's the old lesson: be yourself. And I am a voraphile." In that same day, I found my faith again, since I just passed through an atheist period. I wasn't at home on that week, but as soon as I got back, I took paper and pencil and drew my first comic, "What Vorarephilia Is". Time passed and, well... here we are!

Now, I think that bad-drawn and full of spelling mistakes comic is not the right way to explain well my point of view about Vore, so I decided to write this.

Well then: what's Vore to me? In a few words: love, protection, trust, and not just a matter of arousal. Let's explain what I mean.
The first kind of Vore I love is, in fact, "Love Vore", if I can call it so. The predator (I'll write "pred" from now on) is really fond to the prey, and the prey too; the two could be in love or not, maybe just friends, but love is important. Now, when I say I'd like to be eaten by you, I mean that I'm so fond to you, I trust you so much that the only place where I can feel safe is inside of you, since I KNOW, I know you won't hurt me, I know you will take care of me, I know you will make pleasant my permanence inside of you. On the other side, the predator loves the prey so much that he wants to protect her, to keep her in a safe place, which is the pred himself. That's the point: the pred makes himself a shelter for his beloved prey. Even when the prey may be just tired, sad, angry, stressed: the pred will always be there to protect her and cheer her up. You can see that, in this case, Vore is non-fatal and mostly willing, though an unwilling situation could be really funny.

Another kind of "Love Vore" is different (no, really?!). This other kind is fatal, yes, but it's willing, though. How can I explain it? The prey loves so much the pred, that the only thing which could make her happy is becoming part of the pred, to be with him forever and everywhere. An unwilling and/or shy pred, in this situation, is really sweet and nice, in my opinion, as in all kinds of "Love Vore". In this way, I think vore is a loving and kinda romantic matter, and it's the kind I like the most.

In both cases, pred and prey develop a special feeling to each other, since nobody except the prey has been so close to the pred. Feeling his heartbeat, the warmth of his body... and, on the other side, the feeling of the role of protector, of having someone always with you... Vore is an ultimate act of love, in short.

I don't really like fatal Vore, though. Just in some cases. But we have to remember that eating and digesting food is a natural fact. That's why the story I'm writing is full of fatal Vore. It's a realism matter, in fact, and it's fundamental for the story itself, in this case: it allows to investigate in characters' psychology and such. Anyway, since I don't like vore-ish death, I usually keep it implicit.

Of course, arousal is not absent, anyway, but to me it's not the main reason for liking Vore.
This is MY thought about Vore: everybody has his own, which could be closer or not to mine. By the way, my conception of it is still evolving and developing: everyday you could discover a new dimension!

I hope this writing had clarified a bit this topic, if not, I'm sorry. But if you're not a voraphile, and you arrived so far, I tell you a big "THANK YOU" for reading this and I hope you'll understand us. A big "thank you" anyway to you who just read this short essay, either you're a voraphile or not!

We could be different, but oddity is relative, isn't it?
Actually, I came to the conclusion that that bad-drawn comic was not enough. I had to explain better my point of view about Vore. If you're confused about it, or want to know something more, I hope this will be useful.

Peace~
